SEMBLANZA
Sunya Madrigal es cineasta, gestora y exhibidora con más de 20 años de trayectoria, y su obra ha sido proyectada en 14 países. Ha sido galardonada en el MPIFF (Praga) con el cortometraje híbrido Dimensión Cero, y obtuvo el premio a Mejor Cortometraje Experimental en el Andromeda Film Festival (Turquía, 2023) por Habitar. Su trabajo ha sido seleccionado en el FICM y Ambulante, y finalista en FICMA, MIC MX y SHORTS MÉXICO. Además, formó parte de la 13ª Generación del Directors Lab en Berlinale Talents Guadalajara.
Su documental Otoño Verde ha sido proyectado en la Cineteca Nacional, el Tour MicGénero, Cinetekton, diversos espacios culturales del país y Canal 22. Es fundadora y directora de GRUPO RATIO FILMS (2015), y desde 2019, fundadora y curadora de la Muestra Divergentes, espacio dedicado al cine con perspectiva de género.
En 2025 recibió el Estímulo para la Formación Audiovisual Independiente (EFAI) con el ciclo de talleres Cámara y Acción por un mundo mejor, y en 2026 obtuvo el apoyo de FOCINE para la Muestra Divergentes. Ha sido jurado del Premio Guerrero en el XV Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia.
En el ámbito académico, ha dirigido licenciaturas en el Tec de Monterrey y la Universidad Internacional Jefferson, y ha sido docente en ENES UNAM, UVAQ, la Universidad Latina de América, UDEM e ILATACC, tanto en licenciaturas como en maestrías. Cuenta con una Maestría en Filosofía de la Cultura con especialidad en Cine por la UMSNH, y fue becaria del Programa de Posgrado de Calidad CONACYT.
PROFILE
Sunya Madrigal is a filmmaker, producer, and programmer with more than 20 years of experience, and her work has been screened in 14 countries. She won an award at the MPIFF (Prague) for her hybrid short film *Dimensión Cero*, and received the Best Experimental Short Film award at the Andromeda Film Festival (Turkey, 2023) for *Habitar*. Her work has been selected for FICM and Ambulante, and she was a finalist at FICMA, MIC MX, and SHORTS MÉXICO. She was also part of the 13th cohort of the Directors Lab at Berlinale Talents Guadalajara.
Her documentary *Otoño Verde* has been screened at the Cineteca Nacional, the MicGénero Tour, Cinetekton, various cultural venues across the country, and on Canal 22. She is the founder and director of GRUPO RATIO FILMS (2015), and since 2019, the founder and curator of the Muestra Divergentes, a platform dedicated to cinema with a gender perspective.
In 2025, she received the Grant for Independent Audiovisual Training (EFAI) for the workshop series *Cámara y Acción por un mundo mejor* (Camera and Action for a Better World), and in 2026, she received support from FOCINE for the *Muestra Divergentes*. She has served on the jury for the Guerrero Award at the 15th Morelia International Film Festival.
In the academic sphere, she has directed undergraduate programs at Tec de Monterrey and Jefferson International University, and has taught at ENES UNAM, UVAQ, the Universidad Latina de América, UDEM, and ILATACC, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She holds a Master’s degree in Philosophy of Culture with a specialization in Film from UMSNH and was a fellow in the CONACYT Graduate Quality Program.
