SEMBLANZA / PROFILE
Sunya Madrigal es cineasta, productora, realizadora y exhibidora de cine documental y de ficción, con obras proyectadas en 14 países. Ganadora en MPIFF Mexico Prague International Film Festival con "Dimensión Cero"; galardón a Mejor cortometraje experimental en Andromeda Film Festival -Turquía- y seleccionada en el FICM con el cortometraje experimental “Habitar"; proyecto acreedor a la beca AcompañArte. Fue parte de Talents Guadalajara en el FICG 36 dentro del Directors Studio; finalista en FICMA, MIC MX y SHORTS MÉXICO, seleccionada en Ambulante Pulsos Michoacán con dos trabajos colectivos y uno personal. Su documental "Otoño Verde" sobre derechos sexuales y reproductivos se ha proyectado por todo el país en Mic Género, en Cinetekton, en Festival RESISTIMOS y diversos espacios culturales.
Ha sido directora de licenciaturas en producción audiovisual y arte digital, docente y tallerista en diversidades universidades de Michoacán y México. Es fundadora y curadora de "Divergentes Arte y Cine" festival sobre cine y creación artística con perspectiva de género; y coordina el estudio creativo de cine y arte híbrido GRUPO RATIO FILMS desde 2015.

Sunya Madrigal is a filmmaker, producer, director, and curator of documentary and fiction films, with works screened in 14 countries.
She was a winner at the Mexico Prague International Film Festival (MPIFF) with her film Dimensión Cero and received the award for Best Experimental Short Film at the Andromeda Film Festival (Turkey). Her experimental short film Habitar was an official selection at FICM, and she was awarded the AcompañArte scholarship for one of her projects. She was part of Talents Guadalajara at FICG 36 within the Directors Studio. Her work has been a finalist at FICMA, MIC MX, and SHORTS MÉXICO, and she has been selected for Ambulante Pulsos Michoacán with two collective works and one personal piece. Her documentary Otoño Verde (Green Autumn), which addresses sexual and reproductive rights, has been screened nationally at Mic Género, Cinetekton, the RESISTIMOS Festival, and various cultural venues.
She has served as director of bachelor's degree programs in Audiovisual Production and Digital Art, and has extensive experience as a professor and workshop facilitator at various universities in Michoacán and throughout Mexico. She is the founder and curator of Divergentes Arte y Cine, a festival dedicated to cinema and artistic creation with a gender perspective. Since 2015, she has also coordinated the creative studio for cinema and hybrid art, GRUPO RATIO FILMS.
